Email Hoaxes and Chain Letters

Email hoaxes or chain letters are the most irritating thing you can get. (at least for me) People can be so gullible. Here is an example of an email chain letter.

Hi everyone, my name is John Grouchy and I am the president of the marketing services for Hershey Chocolate co. We are designing a new email system that will help us track new customers. If you send this email to all the people on your email list we will send you a free pass for Hershey's park on PA for you on your family.
good luck and thanks for helping us out. see you in the Park.

John Grouchy
Pres. Marketing division
Hershey's Corp.

I made that up in 2 minutes. I guarantee youm, if I sent that out it would circulate for years amongst the email system. There is no such thing as an email tracking system. No one is going to send you money for forwarding an email to all your friends. No non-profit agency is going to donate 3 cents or $300 if you forward the email. Its all BS and made up by some board person who doesn't know how to create a virus buts wants to annoy people with a virus like email. It does no harm other than get you to do what he/she wants you to do.

Go here for a list of current known email hoaxes or chain letters if the one you are looking for is not listed, it doesn't mean its not a hoax. Just hasn't made the list. Go here to for some guidelines to determine its validity.
